VFX & STEREO ROTOSCOPING???

In the visual effects industry, the term rotoscoping refers to the technique of manually creating a matte for an element on a live-action plate so it may be composited over another background.

Rotoscoping has often been used as a tool for visual effects in live-action movies. By tracing an object, the moviemaker creates a silhouette (called a matte) that can be used to extract that object from a scene for use on a different background. While blue and green screen techniques have made the process of layering subjects in scenes easier, rotoscoping still plays a large role in the production of visual effects imagery.

There are two categories of rotoscoping in viusal effects.First is “VFX ROTOSCOPING” where we only focus on the outer areas and not to worry about the inner part of the object because we don’t need to create a fake depth for our scene. But if we want to create a fake depth to our movie which looks virtual realistic on screen. This technique is known as “STEREOSCOPING”and This type of movies are often shoot with the normal cameras and after shooting we generate the depth map for movie at post production where we need to create a depth map by manually tracing the scene on software through ROTOSCOPING process this kind of rotoscoping is called “STEREOSCOPING ROTOSCOPE”but the tasking for this type of rotoscoping is not too easy because we have to focus on the inner and outer part of an object.Stereoscopic movies are nowadays on demand, and market has launched stereoscoping cameras where it will automatically capture the scene and provide the depth map for stereo conversion. But in terms of rotoscoping depth map will created by manually.and tasking will be different from vfx rotoscoping.

Make Your Own GIF Animation

whenever i have free time  i do this thing because motion design is something which i love the most  after VFX and film-making.I created this GIF animation just to refine my animation principles which we used to apply on our motion works.and if i get the opportunity to share this thing to anyone i always start with this practice .i thought if you want to create good motion design for professional world you need to focus on only one thing which is “Graph Editor“no matter which tool you guys are using  because animation principles n graph editor would be same. and Gif animation is best way so far on 2d medium. But  the real question is how to do this thing at initial level ? So friends if you really want to do any thing you just require one thing which is the zeal of doing that thing desperately . By profession i am not dealing with motion design but whenever i get time i do some graph editor practice by making this kind of GIF animation in after effects which gives me idea to observe more deeply, every time i just give myself a task to create 3-4 sec GIF animation clips on different 2 Themes  may be sometime it will be text falling or some time it’s  shape morphing or maybe any small logo animation.when you play on little  ideas & concepts it always give you a new dimensions of thinking and make your mind more creative.Because you making it spontaneously .always starts with small exercises like ball animation, pendulum exercise etc. and remember that TIME & SPACE is everything in animation.there are plenty animation books n resources are available online  but i think start with this book of animation called ” The Animator’s Survival Kit- by Richard williams  and “Time for animation”

Go and make your own GIF animation and upload it online on www.Giphy.com  and share with your friends on social media
